Many of us have taken a travel journey at some point or the other in our live times. But if you have been on a travel outing in the recently, you could not have failed to notice that a new type of travel has made itself extremely well-known. Recognized as ‘Adventure Travel’ this is a new way to travel that is not just all the rage among the adolescence and persons whose veins are full with adrenaline, but also among ordinary people like you and me!
It is not actually hard to figure out why. Normal travel, has, over the years got dull and unsurprising. With the cost of airfares coming progressively down and package tours becoming more widespread than ever before, regular travel has become stifling, crowded and dull. The feeling of adventure that is usually linked with travel has become outdated. Until adventure travel came onto the scene that is. With adventure travel, travel can once again turn into that exalted pursuit that brings us in touch with new cultures and people and broadens our horizons. The very reason for adventure travel is special experiences – something that all of us, irrespective of our individual preference of travel, want!
An example adventure travel journey for example could present you a very different way of seeing an otherwise normal destination. Now, most people you and I know have been on a Caribbean travel tour. They would have visited the similar old beaches, stayed in the similar old hotels, drove along the similar old roads and seen the similar old touristy sights. But example what an adventure travel journey to the Caribbean could offer. You could go on an eco-trek through the Caribbean rain forests, you could observe the birds, the insects and the animals close up, you could camp out with the local residents and find out more about them, their costumes, their food and their way of life by actually interacting with them and you could learn the joys of nearly empty, perfect beaches. All of this whilst being comparatively near to the well-liked tourist locations, yet away from the routine and dull experiences.
Or picture an adventure travel expedition to Australia. Whilst many tourist do the same, old, tedious city hop across the continent, you could, as part of your adventure travel trip, hot-air balloon your way across the continent, snorkel in the great barrier reef, share a billy with a jolly swagman and waltz with mathilda and a joey or two in the bush country! Doesn’t the adventure travel option sound like much more fun when compared to the ordinary travel option?
It is exactly to provide to this need for a special and exciting travel experience that the genre of adventure travel came into being. And adventure travel is not a type that is limited to the teens and tweens. Increasingly, older adults are opting to go on adventure travel trips. And they are having more enjoyment, learning much more and reliving their experiences at every given chance, much to the envy and consternation of normal travelers.
