Arkansas Cabins
You will find Arkansas cabins situated near popular areas among the outdoor enthusiasts, such as lakes, fishing streams, national forests, state parks and mountain tops.
When my wife began looking into Arkansas cabins as a possible location for our next holiday, I was thinking she was mad. We are both big music fans, forced by the location of our work in the comparative anonymity of suburban Detroit, so when we can find some time to take a break, we like to go to a location where we can listen to music, loud and live, and lots of it. Some location like New York City, or at least St. Louis. There is Little Rock in Arkansas, but not the music type. Ozark mountain log cabins are not exactly the center of the clubbing scene.
But browsing all of the images of Arkansas cabins on the net, it got me remembering my dad, and of the many fishing trips we used to go on together. When I was small, we used to go fishing on the Ohio river. Even then, I wasn't what you would call much of an outdoor person. Whilst the other kids ran around, doing boy scouts and little league soccer, I sat indoors reading. My father, a lecturer at the neighboring college, could hardly condemn of my developing intellectualism, but nevertheless, he thought that a lad my age ought to spend some more time out in the open air.
Without my dad to force me out doors, I have to admit that I have some how forgotten what the squirrels and moose are up to since those days, and I thought a trip to one of those Arkansas cabins may be just what was needed. There were many types of cabins to rent, from modest mountain getaways in the Ozarks to generous, expansive three story cottages on the waterfront. Because it was my wife's plan, I let her select between the various Arkansas cabins, and then we were ready to set off.
She's not any more decisive than what I am, and by the time my wife could finally make my mind up, it was chiefly a matter of discovering which of the Arkansas cabins were still vacant this late in the season. The one we selected was an Ozark mountain cabin, way off the beaten track, and with a wonderful view of the whole area. Getting up there to took us an additional three hours, and just to go to the town to shop for some essential provisions was quite a trek. The electric supply was awful, the water was very cold, and the cabin wasn't very well insulated, but it was still worth it. The next time, we will choose our Arkansas cabins much earlier in the year.
